The Deck Officer is responsible for assisting in the safe navigation and daily operations of the vessel. This role includes watchkeeping duties, monitoring navigational equipment, ensuring maritime safety procedures, and maintaining accurate ship logs. The Deck Officer supports cargo operations, oversees deck maintenance, communicates with port authorities, and ensures compliance with international maritime regulations. The position requires strong situational awareness, precise decision-making, and the ability to coordinate with ship crew during routine tasks and emergency situations.
Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as Deck Officer / Officer of the Watch (OOW).
Valid STCW certification and all required maritime licenses.
Proficient knowledge of navigation systems, COLREGs, and safety protocols.
